Embrace Our Pains
Hebrews 2:17-18 NIV — For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
I believe there is a side to suffering we miss when we focus solely on our pain rather than on God’s greater purpose.
If you can see the purpose behind the pain, you can find the way out of this lie.
If you can see the purpose beyond the pain, you will understand God’s ability to leverage the suffering in your life for greater things.
Are you hurting? Is there pain? Do you have a broken heart? This passage in Hebrews reminds us that Jesus also suffered and therefore understands our sorrows. He has been there and has felt our pain. He came to Earth and became a man that He might be a faithful High Priest, that He might understand and have compassion.
Rather than trying to kill our pain with sedatives or temporary relief, we need to turn to our compassionate Savior to bear our pain and suffering.
Let’s embrace our pains and learn from them.
Much love,
Team CWIB xx
