#78 Making the Sale – Pushing Through Doubts

We’ve all been there if we’re self-employed or have a business – Making the sale!
Converting the potential customer into a paying one, asking them to hand over their well-earned money from their bank account to yours. In return, you’re going to provide them something back.

You might be just getting into business closing your first couple of sales or years in the business game but you’re ramping things up a little, offering a more expensive product or service.

You’ve done your research, you’ve looked at the margins, and you’ve set your price. Your heart’s racing, you’re thinking, “Holy mother of Mary!” that seems like a lot of money, who would ever pay that?! I wouldn’t pay that.

Am I going to do a good enough job for them? What if they don’t like what I make or even worse, they tell their friends I’ve done a bad job?! Or the product wasn’t great?!

You’re about to hit send on the quote or publish on your website and your hands are sweating.

We’ve all been there lovely lady, it can feel terrifying, it has to be one of the most trusting in yourself and your abilities, trusting in God that He’s got you if you do mess it up, the vulnerability of it all is looking at you right in the face.

At this point… You must submit your fears to God, trust Him relentlessly and know that He’s got you. You must hit send.

This is the point in character building that God needs you to grow in, making yourself vulnerable to trusting Him that He will provide you the bread you need to get the job done if you’re going to have or build your business.

If you’ve been given a dream, God says, “I will give you your daily bread. I will provide food in your home for your family and I will provide all that you need, you live in my grace, you have my kingdom here in heaven, down on earth.
You must press publish.”

How is God going to provide for expansion or for your bills if you don’t press send?

Fear died on the cross. Jesus got uncomfortable so that you don’t have to live in fear. And receive comfort. We should be able to run our businesses now without that fear.

If you make a mistake, God will give you the grace to learn, just ask Him for more knowledge.

Only doubt your doubts. You’ve got what it takes. If you’re starting out, make sure you’ve quoted enough to cover your bills/costs to produce and add some (double the cost amount is a good start). If you’re seasoned and you’ve increased your price, you’ve got this lady and throughout these years you’ve grown in value, you’re worth the extra amount.

If God’s given you a promise to look after you, you’ve got to give Him a way to provide.

This money that you’re asking for is just a tool that will help you get the job in this life done, and it’s ok to collect these tools.

If they say no or don’t get back to you, it doesn’t matter. Move on to the next person! Pay for more website traffic, put more valuable content out into the marketplace, and build those relationships with customers.

It’s not going to happen overnight. You have to consistently keep pressing send on those quotes, answering those enquiries and stick to your guns.

This is how much it costs for you to use my services and if you can’t afford it, you don’t value my time or products, we’re not a great fit. It’s ok to say no to people who bargain with you. It’s not worth your precious time to de-value your product.

Keep developing your systems, developing your mind, tweaking your services and products so they get better and better. Ask for feedback, use it as in tactful & strategic ways to create a great amazing business.

You are worth it and God wants to look after you and your family. You’re doing a great job!

Founder Sarah-Jane Meeson was given a word to inspire women. Since then, Sarah-Jane dreamed about how she could inspire women and unite them together. She knew it was going to be for God and she knew she had a passion for business and just to see people thrive and be all that they can be: no matter what past they’ve had, no matter how much money or where they come from. It’s about them being the best person they can be for God and to help share their story of how God has worked through their life and business.

After chatting with a girlfriend and sitting on the idea for a while, God kept prompting her heart to bring this movement of women together. After some time, Sarah-Jane knew what she needed to do; she bit the bullet and now here it is. Christian Women in Business – a movement of Christian women pushing forward for God in their businesses … and it’s great!
